Dissonance, the band, got its start in 1994. Their style has evolved largely from dance music, but incorporates elements from industrial, pop, and alternative rock. Compared to bands like Nine Inch Nails, Curve, Garbage, and Information Society, they have been featured artists on several nationally released compilation CDs including Catscan, Rise: America’s Synthpop Underground, and Transmission. Dissonance has been reviewed in such publications as Cake, Sonic Boom, Beyond, and Control-Alt-Delete.
